My first time patriating in #caedchat was insane. When I first came on I informed people that I was new and I was well received. Jo-Ann Fox @AppEducationFox quickly informed me to get tweet deck, so that I can keep up with the hashtags and to be participate easier. Although, this advice was already given to me, tweet deck did make following #caedchat so much easier. Jana Maiuri @janamaiuri she was one of the first to welcome me and she warned me of how fast #caedchat can be, and she was right! My head was spinning so fast I did not know where to start. It was hard to know what the questions were because the second it started, it was a free-for-all and answers and comments were coming from every direction. However, the second I was able to get my hand on the list of questions I was then able to follow. In this discussion, we talked a lot about technology and what we use and do not use. Nonetheless, one individual was getting upset about this topic and alluded that #caedchat talks to much about technology and no longer talks about pedagogy. I had no comment because I was new and did not feel that was my place. I felt that the discussion of technology was prominent because #sdcue just occurred and I am sure that a lot of the people in #caedchat were present at the San Diego Cue and were still on a high on the topics of discussion. By the end of the #caedchat, I was able to add new people and also learned a lot of new information about technology and different types of apps and web tools. I will be participating in more #caedchat and building upon my networking and learning from professional’s in my field.
